Jeff Cowdry, OT, CHT at ApexNetwork Physical Therapy in Ballwin, MO, attended two continuing education courses to help improve his skills with his patients suffering from hand or arm pain. The first course, Upper Extremity Nerves for OTs and Pts featured a variety of doctors speaking about nerve anatomy and nerve injuries. Jeff learned updated information on nerve regeneration and motor endplates which will help in his use of functional electrical stimulation therapy.
The second course, Beating Pain: What Can a Hand Therapist Do? was taught by a nerve research professor from Canada updating the audience on the latest research in the treatment of nerve pain. Jeff learned a new way to document the area of nerve pain and the intensity of nerve pain.
Jeff reports, “These courses helped me review neuroanatomy as well as updated me on the latest evaluation and treatment techniques for helping my patients suffering pain during their hand rehabilitation.”
